Set up your Woolmoot account
Fill in your profile and adjust your preferences to save time every time you create a pattern.
Sign up and sign in
First things first, you need to create a Woolmoot account. It's free, quick, and gives you access to your personal space where you can start creating your patterns.
Already signed up? Make sure you are signed in to your account before configuring your profile. Everything that follows in this step and this guide is done from your personal space or requires member access.
Fill in your details
Apart from your first name, everything you enter here appears directly on your PDFs: cover page, footer and terms of use. It is best to fill in everything if you can, but nothing is compulsory. Each field you complete makes your PDFs more professional and gives your makers all the useful information to find you.
Go to page- First name
- Your first name is private and is never disclosed. It is only used to address you on the website, in emails and in communications you receive.
- Shop name
- Names the entity that creates and distributes your patterns, usually your shop name or pseudonym. This name appears on the pattern cover page as well as in the terms of use, under usage rights.
- Contact email
- The address you use to receive messages and communicate with your customers. It is also shown in the terms of use of each pattern.
- Social networks
- You can add several social networks by entering your username on each one. The first in the list, outlined in red, is the primary one: it can be displayed in the footer of your PDFs (username visible, automatic link to your profile page). All of them, including the primary one, also appear in the terms of use.
- Links
- Work exactly like social networks: you can add several, for example to redirect to a personal website, an Etsy shop, a Ravelry profile, etc. The first one, the primary one, can be displayed in the footer. All of them, including the primary one, also appear in the terms of use.
Configure your account settings
These preferences set up your working environment on Woolmoot. They do not affect the content of your patterns, only the way you create and interact with the site.
Go to page- Site Language
- Determines the language in which the site is displayed. This has no impact whatsoever on the language of your patterns: it is only the language of the Woolmoot interface.
- Default Pattern Language
- Sets the default language applied to each new pattern you create (it can still be changed individually on each pattern). Choose the language you are most comfortable writing in.
- Pattern auto-save interval
- Sets how often your pattern is saved automatically while you work. A short interval ensures no changes are lost if the page refreshes, the connection drops or something unexpected happens. A longer interval, or disabling auto-save entirely, gives you precise manual control, which is useful if you do not want every change saved.
